The post-degree deaconess certificate is available only to a student who previously completed requirements for regular undergraduate deaconess program with the exception of the deaconess internship; already holds a Bachelor of Arts, Theology major, from Concordia University Chicago; and will serve an internship outside of the United States.
Admission Requirements
- Has completed requirements of the Deaconess Program in the catalog year in which the student entered as an undergraduate, with the exception of the internship year.
- Submits application to the Deaconess Program within 5 years of graduating with a Bachelor of Arts, Theology major, from Concordia University Chicago
- Accepted into the Deaconess Program

- Successful completion of regular undergraduate deaconess program, Transition Three: Admission to Deaconess Internship
- 4 semesters of THY-4993 Deaconess Certificate International Internship (1 credit/semester; fee assessed)
- Successful completion of regular undergraduate deaconess program, Transition Four: Program Completion
- Successful completion of regular undergraduate deaconess program, Transition Five: LCMS Deaconess Certification
