Students who do not maintain continuous enrollment (a minimum of one course during the semester – certain student populations may have stricter requirements) at Concordia University Chicago from semester to semester (fall and spring, excluding summer) will be administratively withdrawn from the University if students are not enrolled in any terms that semester per CUC's academic calendar.
Failure to maintain continuous enrollment (unless the student is eligible, successfully files for, and is granted a leave of absence) may result in withdrawal from the university and requires a petition to request readmission. Some examples of risks include, but are not limited to the following:
- Expiration of previously-earned transfer or CUC credit.
- Change in academic requirements under a new catalog.
- Change in degree offerings under a new catalog.
- Change in availability of courses under a new course rotation and/or cohort template.
- Timeline to graduation/completion may be delayed.
- Change of enrollment status, which might impact finances.
- Placement of administrative holds that impact registration.
- Tuition and/or fee rate increase.
- Failure to be approved for reentry due to academic standing.
- Failure to be approved for reentry due to expiring time limit for program completion (graduate students only).
- Lack of access to support from members of the dissertation committee (doctoral students only).
- Change in composition of dissertation chair and/or committee (doctoral students only).
